We took him to Tio Leo's on Morena Blvd for mexican food dinner his first night. It was very decent. He's dieting and was pleased to see a variety of healthy choices. He got the lettuce tacos and he liked them (spicy and messy). We are always satisfied when we eat at Tio Leo's. I love the chips and salsa.
We went to several places in Poway - The Brigantine for dinner. It was fine, just not the best. I got a shrimp dish and it was just okay. I think they are overpriced and not anything to brag about. My dad liked his coconut crusted fish. Everything was fine, just not AWESOME.
We also went to the Kountry Kafe (Poway) for breakfast, which was good (I liked the country gravy, but the biscuit was a little dry). Otherwise it was all good.
We also went to Le Peep for breakfast. I really like this place. It has a lot of choices. You even have a choice of english muffin with your meal (plain, cinnamon raisin, or multi grain). They also over specialty gourmet coffees. I had the belgium waffle combo and it's one of the best waffles I've had.
One other place for breakfast that we tried was the Hamburger Factory. Pretty good for breakfast. Everyone was pleased with their meal. They offer the flavored creamers for your coffee.
We also took my dad to Coronado and tried Mc P's for lunch. I had a really good steak and cheese sub (spicy with pepperchinis). Interesting surprise. We sat on the patio. Very family friendly Irish Pub really close to Hotel Del Coronado.
I wish I would have taken my dad other places, but there just wasn't time. We did eat at home some and grabbed a bite at Outback (which is always good in my opinion) and he had to have Rubios.
Anyway his visit to San Diego was good. He ate a little at Petco Park and Seaworld too. Next time we'll have to do Phil's BBQ and venture out more beyond Poway. We kept meaning to.
