An Cuu Hue for bun bo hue?

jschyun | Mar 30, 2005 11:57 PM

Has anyone tried this place for bun bo hue? This is their signature dish. I had their card in my car since last year when they opened but since I hadn't liked bun bo hue before, I didn't go.

Finally tried the bun bo hue tonight. I thought it was damn good. Damn good. Came as light yellow broth, soft noodles, chunks of meat, side plate of mint, bean sprouts, and lime. Next time I'll try the banh khoai and the banh canh tom cua too, which the waiter said were also popular. The restaurant is tiny, and in a dingy strip mall, but the inside is clean and bright. It's in a strip mall on Westminster between Euclid and Brookhurst, where the Pho 54 is.

If you try this place, can you write back with your impressions? I'd love to hear from bun bo hue lovers.

The bun bo hue was $3.95. Every single table had a bowl. Some people shared one bowl and also shared other dishes.

I'm a convert! Yes, I know I should wait to write about this place until at least the third visit, but I'm too excited.
