My parent's 50th anniversary is in July. We finally found a place for the dinner.
I'm in charge of the cake. I had an idea of a tiered cake with fondant figues of the family, the house
they have always lived in, my mom's MG when they were first married, and the ugly green station wagon my dad made her get to be more domestic. my dad's long years of being in marching bands in parades playing the baritone, etc. my mom getting a college degree in her sixties, etc.
It seems customized cakes are around $250. That's a lot. I'm still unemployed (anyone need a librarian or really great researcher?) so that figure is a little high.
So any suggestions on a cake for less than $250? Or just really great -tasting cake that looks vaguely like a wedding cake because I don't think they had a special cake for their wedding.
