Custard- Wisconsin Style

anyone here ever had frozen custard in wisconsin or the upper-midwest? it's similar to gelato, but a bit richer, i think, and a bit heavier. it was invented (as the story goes) by leon's custard stand (the supposed original inspiration for the malt-shop on happy days) in milwaukee, and has since taken over southeast wisconsin, and spread to other areas of the state and upper-midwest. there's a chain, culver's, that has had tremendous success, and also offers probably the best fast-food i've had...anyway, once you've had custard you'll never need ice cream again. i've been missing it so much, i'm thinking of starting a custard stand in the boston area with another wisco transplant friend of mine....anyone had it? liked it? think that it would sell out here? herrells and the like have nothing on it!
