Cub friendly bar in Midtown?

Hey all,

I'm going to visiting NYC for a week, starting on Thursday. I'll be travelling with my mother, and we will be staying on 57th between 9th and 10th.

Is there anyplace of note to sit and watch a Cubs(!)game. Yeah, I know we can always grab some snacks and watch it in the hotel room, but sometimes its nice to sit and watch a game in a bar. I'm not looking for anything too, too obnoxious...

I was kind of hoping for decent beer selection and good bar food.

Is there a good coffee place around where we'll be? I'll go to Starbucks in a pinch, but I do not generally care for their coffee.

Also, I've been subscribing to Chownews for a few months now, and have many many great hints. I was curious about the payment at some of these places...I know many of my favorite places in LA and Chicago are cash only, are there many places like this in Manhattan? Favorites listed in Chownews? Mom and I have been to New York many times, but not for a number of years, so we will probably doing quite a few touristy things, ie museums and theater.

Thanks in advance.
