Went to Big Stuff BBQ again yesterday. My third or fourth time. The brisket was some of the best yet. No creosote flavor at all this time. Just a nice dose of yummy smoke and a pound of brisket from the fatty side, crusted nicely. Moist and tender, but not mushy.
We also got a half pound of ham that was tender, too, and tasty. The outer pieces of their ham is really good.
I love the fact that their meats are at Texas prices. $9/lb. Cheap, cheap. And still better than anything in Eugene by far and it would be better than most in Portland, especially on a good day.
Also, talked to them about having them smoke meats and they charge only 75 cents a pound. Really cheap. By comparison, I think Clay's in Portland, which sucks, charges $2/lb.
My friend that lives near Cottage Grove and I are are going to take them some prime rib to smoke, I think. They'll do anything but fish.
Anybody who's travelling through at lunch or dinner time, it's well worth your while to head over to downtown Cottage Grove, it's a cute little area, and stop in at Big Stuff.
