There is a storefront on Degraw near Clinton in Cobble Hill that has been a hive of activity over the past month. Peering through the windows, I saw tables with table settings already in place. It looked like a restaurant that just hadn't opened, but there was no sign to indicate what was going on. My girlfriend went by the place yesterday and also peered in, but this time she saw someone working in the place who waved her in. She asked about the place and the owner said it would be a continental café, would serve beer and wine, would be open from 6 to 10 (whether that is 6am or pm wasn't clear) and would open next week. So, here's hoping for a successful opening although what exactly makes a café continental, I don't know. With Harvest Market just around the corner, the neighborhood appears to be getting rich in café-ish dining.
