Collegeville Bakery Deli Americanized Hoagies

Bacchus101 | Dec 22, 2010 04:28 AM

Happened by an old favorite sandwich shop yesterday in Collegeville. The "olde" Collegeville Bakery Deli renovated and under new deli management; nice place nice people and very busy.

Yesterday I got their latest version of an Italian Hogie. Totally Americanized, not even a slice of the cured ham which gave it a special flavor, American tasteless cheese, cheap salami. Ok now did I mis-order? Is there a special version now which maybe for a buck or two more is assembled with ITALIAN meats and cheeses?

We do enjoy the new Bakery Deli , the bread, homemade sauses and meat balls; but unless I find there is a special or that I mis-ordered this is the last hoagie from this place. Oh and the Deli across the street was ruled out months ago for two really lousy takeout sandwichs. Seems now neither is special, just belly filler.

I know there are great places in Philly; but where or where can one get a really good ITALIAN hoagie in the VF, KOP, Collegeville area?
