Yesterday I had one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Ellen and I were shopping for tile in Newark (we're currently planning a renovation of our bathroom) and got hungry for lunch, so we went to the closest restaurant, which happened to be Coimbra, at 637 Market. We both ordered soup and shared a goat stew.
The soup was tasty but the stew was just out of this world! Such a rich, full flavor -- Ellen bit into one of the potatoes while I was eating soup and said "oh wow Jeremy, you've got to taste this, you'll love it!" And she was right. A day later I am still thinking about what a delicious meal that was.
The stew ($10) is enough to feed about 4 people -- We took enough home for our dinner.
Desserts and coffee are also excellent. Ellen did not like the one called (IIRC) sarandella, but I did; we both liked the tiramisu.
