This morning I stopped by the shop going up on Court Street between Bergen and Wyckoff. It's to be a prepared food shop with a good selection of cheese and bread. The owner seemed nice and knowledgable and said all the right things (e.g. Murray's Cheese, Pain Quotidien). They plan to open in early September.
I also stopped by, but didn't buy anything, at the long-delayed Pacific Gourmet market on Court and, what, Pacific? They're still stocking up, but it looked OK, like a glorified Korean. I wonder if anyone's tried any of the produce.
There's something things in progress on Smith between Bergen and Wyckoff, next to the pharmacy, lots of blond wood but no information. And I thought I saw another storefront, across the street, being cleared out as well.
Also, I passed a sign in a window on Smith down Union way that said "Coming: Brick Oven Pizza." Let's keep our fingers crossed!
