I read about the imminent closing Saturday and rushed down for a last meal. My wife was out of town, place was packed, I grabbed the last seat at the bar. Most people didn't know about the closing, but somehow the atmosphere was festive. Lisa made the rounds and talked to everyone.
I got 3 apps, waalu tuna, tempura shrimp, and foie gras, plus 2 glasses of Heaven's Door sake and a delicious glass of some type of Sauternes-type wine recommended by bartender ( I forget the name).Everything was wonderful, portions were extremely generous and Chef Kim was very liberal with the truffles. I didn't see him.
The new owner has a bar in Annapolis. The new place will be a pub with bar food.
