Just opened this week (Clinton @ Stanton), has two cartoon martini glasses on the menu front, but no name to speak of...lots of bar space in the front, with what looked to be about 15 or so small tables in back for food....
The wine list looked to be pretty extensive, a tad overpriced maybe, but not too too bad, there were some decent values in there...good overall beer list too, only noticed 3 on tap, but I ordered a bottled Lindemann's Lambic, came in a tall, cold glass, nice and raspberry fizzy....at 6 bucks, I thought it'd be more...(and warmer, but hey, it was hot in there....)
Service was decent despite the noise level and increasing post midnight crowding - they had a couple hosts, guys just roaming the floor, and one or two cocktail waitresses...I am personally not a fan of this sort of vibe, but this looks like a nice place to go for a weekDAY drink and a couple small plates....didn't order any food, but the menu is refreshingly lighthearted (duck, duck, goose - a triptych of duck breast, confit and goose liver pate; caprese, "sushi style" - which i'm assuming is a slab of tom over a chunk of mozz, made to look like sushi?) Also a nice place for dessert, maybe - they have a fondue that looked formidable enough for 3 or 4 to share....
So anyway, does anyone have any info on the place? It seems like a pretty standard addition to the neighborhood - a disturbing trend, in a way, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt until more research can be done!
By the way, anyone tried AZUL on Suffolk @ Stanton? It's the first of the non-Ludlow LES newbies to put something on Suffolk so far....menu looks sort of pricey and all over the place, but interested to hear if anyone's tried it yet....
