Once upon a time I had a boyfriend at Tulane...and I went to visit him many times. LOVED New Orleans...fell out of love with the guy. Anyhow, it's almost 2 decades later and I am planning a trip with my husband (different guy)--my first since those long-ago days. I have a memory from back then of going to a great old bar with red-checked tablecloths and drinking cold beer and eating huge piles of steamed crawfish. It was definitely not in the French Quarter...it could have been somewhere in the Garden District or Uptown? There was no live music that I remember...but maybe a juke box and a pool table or two.
I know this is awfully vague...but any ideas what this place could have been--or any suggestions for places like that? I've always wanted to go back and have more of those crawfish...
Also, I remember going to the Camelia Grill. Is it still as wonderful as it was then?
