Imagine you were staying at the Plaza for 5 days in the run up to Christmas, and that members of your family were also staying at the Waldorf and the Essex House:
Where would you go for a good Sunday brunch - not too busy and informal, but not stuffy either (8 people in total, $20 to $30 per person)?
Where would you have breakfast, if not in the Plaza, during your 5 night stay (needs to be within fairly easy reach of the hotel)?
Which places would you recommend for a group dinner on the evening of 22 December (8 people in the group, somewhere smart, good Manhattan location and experience, maybe around $50-$75 per person. We have considered Metrazur in Grand Central)?
Finally, where could we have lunch on Christmas Eve, given that we are likely to go skating in CP or at the Rock Centre?
No-one in our party has strong food prejudices. 5 out of the 8 are 60 or over (but active), 2 of them are first-time visitors. Spicy food not really an option. Looking for experiences that we will remember, and not just for amount we end up paying.
