Big thanks to Pappy for organizing an outrageously good dinner for six Chowhounds at Cafe Atlantico's Minibar, The world's tiniest amusement park. If it were not for the expense, I would take my kids here.
Much has already been written about the experience, so I'll just add my two cents:
Portion size and intensity of flavors are in inverse proportion. I only wish the meal could have been stretched out to four hours allowing for more time to recover in between tastes.
I did not order wine with dinner, and I wonder how on earth you could match anything to this parade of flavors. Chances are you'd be harming the meal, not helping.
I love the lightness of the experience. The fare, the brightly lit work space, the windows. Even sitting on stools. It is a meal to make me feel light-hearted and enthusiastic. So many coarses, it is easy to be filled with fresh air, sunshine, and forgetfulness. Thank goodness they give you a printed menu at the end.
