Chowhound Challenge: Sit-down Mexican, with a bar, on the west side of Vegas...

OK, hounds, hubby and I are settling into our new neighborhood, and starting to try and find our favorites "in the hood." With so many restaurant closures in Vegas over the last year, it can be a challenge. We just want someplace to go on a Friday night and have a margarita or two, some good chips and salsa, and Mexican food that not's too tex-mex....It need not be totally authentic DF style, but we don't need the globs of cheese either. So far the challenge is unmet (missing La Galleria which closed some months ago...). So, hounds, any thoughts? I wasn't impressed with the place that is Dona somebody's Tamales (on Cheyenne...)...but that's approximately the neighborhood and style I'm looking for (actually, closer to Lake Mead and Buffalo would be better; Summerlin would be ok too....and we would go east on Lake Mead, Vegas, or Washington if anyone can think of places that aren't taquerias...Don't get me wrong...I love taquerias...but that's not what I'm searching for.

Hounds?? Any thoughts??
