CHOWDOWN ANNOUNCEMENT: Chef's Wok, Alameda, 6/22

Ruth Lafler | Jun 15, 2006 04:54 PM

Reports have been trickling in about the new Cantonese/Hong Kong-style restaurant Chef's Wok in Alameda, which reportedly imported a famous chef from China and a dim sum chef from Macau.

Just how good can Chinese food be in Alameda? Let's find out!

Where:

Chef's Wok
1812 Webster St. (through the Webster St. tube from downtown Oakland)

When:

Thursday, June 22, 6:30 pm

Who:

RSVP to rlafler@ucsbalum.net -- please indicate with your RSVP whether you'd prefer the organizers develop a "banquet" menu in advance or order as the spirit moves us when we get there. If you got an evite notice through the SF Lunch Series list, please RSVP through evite (note the box for indicating your ordering preferrence in the reply section of the evite).

This is a huge restaurant that's not very busy on weekdays, so I'm not going to set a guest limit -- the more the merrier! But please RSVP as soon as possible in case we decide to go the order in advance route.

How Much:

$20-30/person

I'm looking forward to meeting you and kicking off a great chow summer.
