We own a rental property in Winter Harbor and have become regulars at Tracey's Seafood on Rt. 1 in Sullivan, Maine. As I write, they have gone over to their Fall schedule. (I think they're closed now on Monday, Tuesday, maybe Wed., but open the rest of the week.)
NOT FANCY (understatement). Great prices. Kind of a shack with a dining room containing about 8-10 tables, covered with vinyl tablecloths with a lighthouse design. But we think we've found at Tracey's the best clam and fish (haddock) chowders in existence. $5.00 a bowl. All of the food we've tried has been worth a return trip. People are trying to get the recipe, but the Tracey family plans to keep it in the family as it has been. There are 4 generations working there on busy days. Nice, hardworking people who are willing to stop to talk.
BYOB. There is an outside window for takeouts and ice cream.
Has anyone else here discovered Tracey's and can back up my assertion that they have the best chowders anywhere?
