I subscribe to the theory that if I eat enough spicy food and drink enough citrusy drinks, I can stop a cold in its tracks, before it grows into a full-fledged sore throat, followed by the inevitable march through my upper respiratory tract.
Typically, this involves hot and sour soup and spicy Szechuan, (followed by a couple of glasses of O.J., possible salt water gargle or tea with honey, and topped off with a Theraflu.)
But the hot and sour soups around me tend to be rather pedestrian.
If you also follow this theory, would be so kind as to tell me your suggested chow-ish cold preventatives in the greater Boston area?
