Chow outing?

I've been thinking of a chow outing for some time now and Zorra's post today made me step up. The problem is that it's hard to find a place like Taiwanese Cousine or TOP where the wine is BYOB, food very inexp. and good, is very easy to share. El Hildelguence could work if the owner were to modify a few things like instead of having to buy a plate of his incredible tacos with ham, avacado etc maybe I could talk him into just giving everyone 1 taco and charging alla cart? Also, you almost have to go friday or saturday night to get the full experience of a Huatacan band and the free flowing tequila shots in addition to the cabrito which is much better on the weekend. My guess we would need to budget close to $15-20 per person plus drinks.
Another cool place that would be fun is Gorditas Aguascaliente. This place is almost all about antijitos. We could get out of here for $10-12 per person plus drinks. The stars here are the huaraches, gorditas, and sopes. Soups are first rate and the chile relleno is great.
Malaysian Rest would be another choice that I would be very interested in. Stewart knows the place well and might possible be able to help us out there.

If anyone has any other thoughts let me know. I can be reached at
