I dunno why it took something like 50 years (since 1963 for Chips Ahoy! and 1928 for Reese's PB Cups) for the marketing gurus at the Nabisco and Hershey's to come up with this combo.
But, as they say, better late than never, right?
So, what's not to like about chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cups?
Indeed, what is there not to like? Well, in fact, not much. This is one seriously good finger-licking cookie.
The sweetness of the milk chocolate is balanced nicely with the lip-smacking saltiness of the peanut butter. In fact, I would say these are better than the original Chips Ahoy! cookies, which even with my sweet-tooth can be sometimes a bit too cloyingly sweet on the tongue. But the addition of peanut butter provides a nice foil to this effect.
Granted, you have to start off as a fan of Chips Ahoy! cookies in general to really appreciate this combo. But if you are then I think you're in for a nice treat.
And, if you don't like Chips Ahoy! cookies, then I'd imagine that anything short of a full-blown nuclear assault on the Nabisco factories will appease you ...
