LA Hound & Sister (Chicago Hound) are coming into town and need help with recos for an authentic Chinese Seafood place to celebrate Dad's B-day. In the City is preferable, although not too far out on the Penninsula is ok.
Parents are Chinese immigrants, so nothing that is even slightly Americanized is gonna cut it. Interested more in quality of food than atmosphere, but if we can get both, why not? Price is not a concern, although if we're paying primo dollar, expect it to be worth it. Also open to any regional style of cuisine, although I expect most of the good ones in the Bay Area are Cantonese.
Have very limited knowledge of Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area -- have only eaten at places in the City and overall have not been that impressed with the places I've been to compared to what is available in SoCal.
Briefly scanned past posts and welcome more comments on Koi Palace & Seafood Harbor in Millbrae(maybe too far out).
TIA for all suggestions.
