china village

Took eight out-of-town relatives (serious foodies) to China Village last night. To say it was a hit is to speak in understatement. One cousin from LA said if he had a choice between going to Chez Panisse and China Village, he'd take China Village. What we ordered (thanks to those whose postings we reviewed before heading to the restaurant):
Sesame bread (Puff bread) filled with Spicy Combination
Cucumber with Garlic Sauce
Spicy Cold Noodle with chicken
Sliced Side Pork with Spicy Garlic Sauce
Village Special Seafood Soup Noodles
Hot and Spicy Pork Feet (shoulder)
Village Special Lamb
Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Sauce
mustard greens
Sesame Flatbread
Everything was great--esp. the sliced side pork with spicy garlic sauce and the village special seafood soup noodles. Service was warm and attentive. We had a 7:30 reservation on a Sunday, and the place was only 1/3-1/2 full--maybe the World Series?
