There's a Chilean pizzeria on roosevelt around 68 or 67, south side of street. They're not compleely out of the closet on their chilean-ness, but they do have some interesting empanadas and stuff. I tried an empanada once and liked it fine; I'm due for a return visit. I'm not happy with the chilean place on Broadway in Jackson Hts; if we can encourage these guys to do more and more chilean stuff, we might have a decent venue for the cuisine.
BTW, las americas pizzeria at junction and roosevelt is argentinian....much the same set-up....lots of boring pizza but a few intersting back-home specialties.
Same for copacabana pizza on 36 ave in astoria...good brazilian hors d'oerves, terrible pizza. This is turning into a South American institution, and I don't mind at all (just ignore the pizza always!)
