Yesterday, I was driving down El Camino (south of Ralston) about 2:30 looking for lunch and remembered all the raves about this place a while back. Only open til 3 or so, I thought I'd stop in. I was in the mood for lamb, but when I got in there, she (owner, baker) only had chicken or beef. Normally this would put me in a funk, but she was pulling freshly baked breads out of her pizza oven and the aroma was overwhelming. I ordered the chicken shwarma (sandwich, not plate) and happily waited while eyeing her selection of baked goods, deli and grocery items.

O.K. so the homemade bread IS divine, but I was not expecting the grilled chicken to be so well spiced, slathered with rich lebni, stuffed with fresh romaine and tomatoes. I also detected a pickle of some sort which added a lovely piquant crunch. The whole compilation of ingredients created perfect mouthfuls.

It was close to $7. I am cetainly going back for the lamb!
