My husband and I had the most delightful lunch at Chez Pierre last Saturday. We both had a glass of house champagne which was Francois Montand. I thought for $5.00 a glass, it was a good deal. For appetizers I had lump crab cake with ginger and key lime aioli and mango relish. Husband had escargots baked in a garlic and herb butter. The escargots were very tender. They reminded us of the ones Berns Steakhouse in Tampa used to serve. The bread was fresh and hot, right out of the oven. As an entree I had sandwich poulet concassee which was a creamy chicken, dill and pecan salad with grapes served on a croissant with lettuce and tomatoe. Hubby had the sirloin steak frites with port wine sauce. The dessert tray looked wonderful and I wanted to taste everything, but we shared the peanut butter/cream cheese roll on top of chocolate cookie topped with sliced bananas and a carmel sauce. Everything was wonderful, the food, the service and the ambience of the restaurant located under a couple of huge old oak trees. There is outdoor seating which I'm sure would be nice in the fall, but in the August heat and humidity, we opted for indoor dining.
