I've been watching Food Network my entire life, everytime a chef is cooking a steak, they always say the wrong thickness... At least I'm pretty sure it's wrong... Geoffrey Zakarian was cooking his ribeye steak for Best Thing I've... show, he stated that the steak is 2 and a half inch, when I can CLEARLY see the thickness is LESS than 2 inches... comparing to his cutting board and his fingertips...
Then, I recall almost everytime I watch a youtube video or a show on tv, they always say the wrong thickness.... One chef says his steak is 1 inch thick, I see that it's half an inch...
What gives?? Is it different cooking measurements that they learn in culinary school or something?
