New Chef and Menu - The Fishery, SD

Quite good dinner at the Fishery. New chef Paul Arias (an ARV alum by way of Cape Cod) is slowly wresting his own place on the menu from the owners' and regs limited tastes, without leaving them behind. Yes, you can still get fish tacos, but the other evening we had:

Poached Lobster Tail over Heirloom Tomatoes with Pickled Jalapeno Viniagrette
Herb-crusted Swordfish on Forbidden Rice Risotto with Warmed Gooseberries
Seared Mano de Leon Scallop with Crispy Pork Belly and Corn Puree

All washed down with an interesting selection of wine tastings poured by enthusiastic young sommelier -in-the-making Brenden. (The Fritz Chardonnay was my favorite. The Trefethen Dry Riesling the most curious. My husband preferred the Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc and the German Riesling whose name escapes me.)

There's a tasting night on Tuesdays, and they're participating (lunch and dinner) in Rest. Week. http://thefishery.com/special-events/
