I just came from this new little specialty cheese shop in Del Ray-Alexandria. It's directly across the street from Taqueria El Poblano. It opened yesterday. James G posted about it previously--see link. He provided a link to their web site. Owner's name is Jill Eber.
She has a reasonable selection of specialty and artisinal cheeses. I went there looking for Berkshire Blue, which she didn't have but she will be getting in. She had several other domestic and imported blues, and others of all sorts. I didn't count, but I'd guess maybe 30 varieties. She says she will keep the variety at any one time low for now, and rotate types, in order to try to keep them from going over-aged. There is also a selection of other "gourmet" items, such a balsamics, etc., and some charcuterie. Sorry I didn't think about posting while I was in there (I know, stupid me!) so I didn't do a mental inventory.
It's a small shop, but she is enthusiastic, and deserving of our support IMO. Worth a detour to Del Ray
