Charlotte - Central Ave. Restaurants

I've tried:

Dim Sum - Not overly impressed. I need to go back and try something a little less exotic. Any entree recommendations of Dim Sum can't misses?

Mama's Caribbean - Again, not real impressed. Large portions but the meat was fatty and difficult to eat. My friend ordered chicken and it appeared he was served something from the ribcage area. Waiter had a glass eye and talked like Bob Marley, which was sort of cool.

La Taquerio (sp?) - Had this last night. Chicken enchilada, chicken taco, rice, beans, chips and salsa. The chicken was very low quality and not very tasty - will definitely get beef or vegetarian next time. . . Rice and beans were good. Some of the better rice I have had in NC (not saying much). Salsa was simple but fresh. A good mix of tomatoes, onions, peppers, cilantro, and oil.

What are some other places to check out on Central Ave? I'm not necessarily looking for ethnic food, but please exclude discussion of these establishments which I already often frequent:

Fuel Pizza
Dish
Thomas St. Tavern
The Penguin

Look forward to getting input from other Charlotte area hounds.
