Central Fish--what a fish market

Taking a tip from you folks I dropped by Central Fish on 39th and 9th Ave this morning when I was in the neighborhood. Wow! Not only did everything look great, the prices were very good. Wild salmon at $4.99 a pound? Same with tilapia. Sea bass was like $7 a pound. And they had head-on shrimp, which is a great thing. And the place didn't really smell like fish at all, which is a great sign that the place is kept clean and the fish is fresh.

There was a big hunk of tuna at $4.99 a pound and another one nearby at $3.99. (It wasn't clear to me what the difference between the two pieces was). That's better than even what I've paid at Apicella's in Hoboken, which is a pretty impressive place.

I'm not sure I really need to bracing for Chinatown if I can go to this place. Thanks for the tip...
