I am new to this board & would like to ask for some suggestions.
My grandparents decided they want take me to dinner in the city to "one of the places I go" -- as they put it. However, I know much of what is reviewed here (& where I dine) would not be their scene...they are really cool & energetic (but conservative) 80 year olds. Typical dinners out for them are Dilworthtown Inn, Washington Inn (Cape May) etc.
Therefore I'm looking for a place that:
1. Has a menu that is a bit adventurous but doesn't stray too much from that tastes of an 80 year old couple
2. Is recognized for top notch service (I'll drink a bottle of wine by myself if I have to listen to my grandmother comment on the lack of good help for the 100th time)
3. Still gives them some sense that they did something different, something in the city, something "young & trendy" as my grandmother insists, without feeling completely uncomfortable.
I'd like to accomplish this for ~$50-$60 per person, including drinks
