I visited Casa Tina's in downtown Dunedin this past weekend. It is "gourmet mexican and vegetarian" per their website (see link below) We arrived at 11:30 on Sunday and the restaurant had about 8 of their 20 tables full. Although I have lived in Dunedin for 2 years, this is the first visit to this fabulous restaurant.
We started off with Quesadillas Albani (cheese, beef & cilantro); it included 3 small servings that was ideal for an appetizer. The homemade salsa was a bit on the spicy side (for me anyway) but the quesadillas were awesome. The homemade chips & salsa (complimentary) were great as well. My entree was Chicken Flutes which consisted of 2 large rolled flour tortillas stuffed with shredded chicken and topped with a sour cream, homemade guacamole & salsa. My husband's entree was Mole Pablano which consisted of 2 chicken enchiladas topped with cheese and mole sauce. Both entrees were served with a good-sized helping of seasoned rice & black beans.
Although we were stuffed, we couldn't resist having coffee & dessert too. I had fried ice cream (serving was big enough for 2-3 people) and my husband had flan. It was a fabulous meal for less than $50 including tax & tip.
The decor kind of reminded me of Miguels (Tampa) with paper flags on the ceiling and mexican music. Service was fine, the owner (Tina) waited on us and was very accomdating. I highly recommend this restaurant.
