Went back there last night after long time not going. Pleasant surprise on a few things.

First things to avoid: In ascending order of no goodness.
1. Potato Salad. Just vile.
2. Potato pancake. More bread like than nice shreds of potato fried into a pancake.
3. Chopped liver platter. Not really bad, but not worth getting. I has the vile potato salad, decent cole slaw, ok tomato and onion slices on a bed of lettuce. The chopped liver itself seemed sweet, as if it had some sugar added. Verdict, you can get better chopped liver at Waldbaums.
4. Kreplach in chicken soup. Soup was actually ok to pretty good. Matzo ball better than kreplach.

Now to the stars of the show.
I have only good to say about the meat sandwiches. Four of us ordered one brisket and two Woody Allen (corned beef and pastrami combo). The meat was juicy and flavorful. The combo sandwich was comically large, consisting of nice tender thin slices of hot juicy pastrami and corned beef. A small dish of Russian dressing was way superior to the poor stuff at Katz's. Went great with the meat and slaw. Had to eat with a fork, way to big to try to pick up and take bites from. Took home 2 halves of combo and a little brisket.
Photo shows brisket sandwich in the background and half or Woody combo in the foreground.

Where does a Moyel keep his implements? In a brisket.
