Since it is artichoke season I am wondering whether any restaurants are serving carciofi alla giudia (fried artichokes roman Jewish style). I am particularly looking for the dish made from long stemmed large globe artichokes NOT babies. Osteria does serve the dish, it is ok but not great and they use babies. I called Tiramisu but the very nice young woman could not really answer my question other than to tell me it is their most popular dish (I am not surprised….it is a great dish even when made with short stemmed babies).
Has anyone eaten this dish here in Philly made with long stemmed large artichokes??
