We had a very nice dinner at Captain King last night. However, the dim sum chef leaves early, and our favorite dishes were not available at dinner time: scallion pancakes; the little fried pastries stuffed with chives, eggs, cellophane noodles and dried shrimp; and espcially the sesame bread. We were forced to substitute steamed bread to soak up the delicious gravies on the pork shank and the Taiwan chunk chicken (redolent, almost numbing with Sichuan pepper).
All is not lost. The manager said that if you call early in the day, they will hold some dough to make the Sesame Pancake at least.
They also serve sushi now, the rage at many Taiwan places.
