We had dinner with friends at Caprice last night. My wife and I started out with the endive salad followed by the New Bedford Day Boat Scallops, since the scallops were recommended by other Chowhounders. Our friends had the Blue Nose sea bass.
There's really not much to say. None of the dishes stood out as examples of superlative cooking, or were memorable in any way. However, the $300 bill was something we won't forget anytime soon.
The company was great and we had a fantastic time. But we could have had just as much fun just about anywhere else for 1/3rd the price with better food.
The view from Sam's is much better, as is their food.
