Hubby and I are heading to Cambria this weekend for a much-needed getaway. As always, we're looking for good places to eat. Last time we were there we went to the Old Stone Station (loved it) and Brambles Dinner House (we felt a little too young in there and for the price it was not that great). We've heard mixed reviews about the Sow's Ear and would prefer to avoid it for now. So, other than those three... any recommendations?
We'd especially like suggestions for breakfast and lunch. I'd also like to find a nice, scenic place to have a drink or two one evening.
As far as types of food - we live in Santa Barbara, and by default seem to eat (and enjoy) a lot of "California" type of food, i.e. foofy stuff involving seared ahi and frizzy lettuce... so something NOT in that mold would be a treat, because a person can only eat so much seared ahi in one year. We do enjoy all types of cuisine though traditional French seems to be too much to handle.
