Cake House Emma, 2090 Rt 27, Edison (next to Bien Hoa restaurant)

Retail bakery (no tables). Everything is tasty and cute. My favorite treat is called “Chestnut Morning”. It’s a plank of those squishy square white dinner rolls. The whole plank is sliced cross-wise and smeared with sweetened butter and slivers of chestnut. Addictive. I also love “choko” half-dollar size cookies, the slice and bake kind, white with speckles of chocolate. Simple, tasty, and just too cute.
Here’s something you should try once: a Peeps-yellow cake molded in the shape of a banana, stuffed with a bit of white bean paste. Tasty, cute, and kind of scary.
(If you think I overuse the adjective “cute”, it’s because you haven’t been to Cake House Emma. )
