Help now! Cake w/out baking powder

My friend is coming over for dinner tonight and I was supposed to surprise her with a birthday cake. So I made cook's illustrated's rich and tender yellow cake, which is in the oven now. The problem: i forgot to add the 2 teaspoons of baking powder the recipe called for. Should I start over? What will the cake be like? The batter sure tasted good!
