I have a friend coming in from overseas who has requested some new england Whelks for dinner.

Anyway, apparently they are actually exported from here to -all- over the world, but for some reason they are not popular in the USA.
Does anyone know where I can buy fresh Whelks locally? And once I have them, how can I prepare them at home? I hear you have to cook them very slowly.
