Buona Sera on University Place

David Tillyer | Nov 3, 2000 09:26 PM

We stopped in Buona Sera on University Place tonight and won't go back. It's about the most crowded restaurant I've been in--tables are so close you can taste the food on the next table. The wait staff was not unpleasant, but we didn't get any kind of bread and weren't asked if we wanted a drink before dinner. The wine list was extremely expensive and the waiter didn't give prices with the specials. The salads were very good, but the main course left much to be desired. I had a ravioli with cheese and arugula and a pine nut sauce. It was really very bland. My partner had unremarkable gnocchi with pesto sauce. The desert menu didn't have prices--is that legal?--and the coffee was very weak. My partner enjoyed her espresso.
We paid $72 for two people...two glasses of wine and no deserts. We won't go back.
Peace, David Tillyer
