Brickhouse Cafe -- Dedham

I finally made it to the Brickhouse Cafe in Dedham. It is right across the street from McGolf. It used to be a really divey bar but is now a pleasant, little Italian restaurant.

I went with a friend and her one year old child. The dining room is small but we were seated right away. I imagine there's a wait on the weekend. There is a large bar area.

We were served a large bread basket with oil dipping sauce. The wine list is pretty limited but they give a generous pour. We split the tomato, basil, mozzarella salad and a pizza and got a side of pasta for the little guy. The tomato and mozzarella were very fresh and seasoned well (although maybe salty for some). The pizza was a great thin crust pizza, perfect for two to share. The marinara on the pasta was good but not great. You could tell it was homemade though. The portion of pasta was huge.

It really inexpensive. Total bill was $30 including a beer and wine. Always nice to have another low-key option in the area.
