About 10 years ago, I ate breadfruit salad at a sweet little Vietnamese place on Roscoe near DeSoto in Canoga Park. The dish was something like the bun dishes that I get these days, but it was more like a composed salad with no tossing required. The breadfruit was in little pieces all throughout the salad, as well as noodles and greens and other vegetables. It looked something like coleslaw or that ubiquitous "sumi" salad we've all had at office parties and picnics.
It's not that the breadfruit itself was particularly interesting. But the overall flavor and texture of the salad was marvelous.
I got to order it about five times, and then the place closed. I had forgotten all about the salad until today, when I realized that I really want to eat some.
Anyone know where I can get some, or perhaps where the owners of this little spot ended up?
East SFV is preferable but I'll drive a long way for a good meal.
