Brazilian BBQ in Eatontown, NJ

Last night I ate at the Brazilian BBQ in Eatontown. It
official name is Brazilian BBQ, but in Portugese. DI
(information for the oldsters among us) lists it under
Brazilian BBQ.

It was very enjoyable. Since my only other experience
of this style of cooking was at Porcao in Miami, I
don't have much basis for comparisons.

For those unfamiliar with this type of restaurant,
there is a very large buffet (to call it a salad bar
would be misleading), with lots of cold and hot dishes,
including buffalo and ostrich stews.

The main attraction is the variety of grilled meats,
most of which are on skewers. Waiters come around with
the large skewers and carve off a portion when you
request it. There were a large variety of beef items
(tenderloin, roast beef, sirloin, beef shishkabob, beef
ribs, and probably some others that I can't recall).
There were also some very nice pork ribs, roast pig,
duck legs, rabbits, sausage and even some salmon, that
came around on a rolling cart. Most things were very
nice. I'm only sorry that I wasnt' in my usual
ravenous mood, so that I could completely pig out.

On weekend, the dinner price is $18.95. That does not
include beverages, coffee or dessert. We didn't have
any of those, since the meat filled us up. The price
is a few dollars less during the week.

Not recommended for vegetarians -- this is truly a meal
for carnivores.

It's on route 35 just north of the entrance to Fort
Monmouth.

If you are in the area, it is definitely worth a visit.
