brawta cafe -- park slope

Just tried the new Brawta Cafe in Park Slope (on 7th Ave. and 15th St.) It's a takeout shop that's an offshoot of the Caribbean restaurant on Atlantic Ave.
I'm happy to report the food is really good. The menu features some standard carib fare: Jerk Chicken, Curried Goat and Codfish Cakes. But it's also got much more: lots of fresh fish (including whole red snapper and salmon) and at least five vegetarian dishes. I tried the Tofu Curry With Chick Peas and it was great. It comes with a side of rice and peas as well as steamed cabbage or a salad. The dish was fresh, tasty and a great value at $9.50. This place is definitely worth a try. They deliver too.

P.S.: While I was walking to Brawta Cafe, I noticed that the french pastry shop on Seventh Ave. (think it's called Cafe Isabelle) has opened a small french restaurant next door featuring sandwiches and plats du jour. Havent tried it yet.
