went to bouchon--my second visit, my dining companion's first--earlier this week, and came away very impressed. we split an appetixer of rillettes, a mix of rabbit and duck, and were happy to find it accompanied by some nice cornichons, a pair of mustards and a tasty (if slightly overcooked) stringbean salad).
for mains, she chose seared scallops, which were done to perfection, topped with a frisee and nicely portioned. i settled on the chicken, which sat atop a hommock of garlicked spinach, and came surrounded by carmelized turnips and carrots. blah mashed potatoes were superfluous.
we shared a berry tart--blueberries, strawberries and raspberries, accompanied by a vanilla ice cream that was either homemade or very very fresh. a fine experience overall and not all that expensive at all...
