While my last couple of bbq experiences here were unmemorable (ordered baby backs and beef ribs to go not long ago and thought food was good, not great, and expensive, 30 bucks for the combo) tonight I ate at the restaurant, alone, and had some of the best pork ribs I've had in Los Angeles, period. The St. Louis spare ribs. Just looking at them I knew. They were lush. I didn't even try the sauce on them, they were that compelling and complex and excellent. I'm doing a bbq article for my blog and so have been doing a serious re-visiting of bbq joints I've known and loved (and some new ones I've never tried) so I have a lot of pork ribs under my belt the past few weeks, and I repeat, these spare ribs -- top notch. And by the way, the fried mac and cheese dipped into the Louisiana hot sauce, also pretty stellar. And Aaron, the owner, as always, a complete pleasure.
