RIchmond does indeed have some really good food, and I loved what I ordered at Black Sheep for brunch: the South Anna Scramble. Smoked trout, bacon, mixed mushrooms, horseradish hollandaise, everything worked so well together for a surprisingly smooth experience. Great American cooking.
If I was ever in the mood for something sweet, I'd go for the croissant french toast, but I am rarely in that mood. Kudos that it comes with a nice tart sauce. Still, I doubt I'd order it for myself.
The roast duck quesedilla is also something I'm not likely to order as I'm rarely in the mood for faux Mexican. So even though ti seemed well executed, it was hard for me to get excited about.
What else have people had success with? That South Anna Scramble will be difficult to resist next time, but since my son just started at VCU, I think I might have plenty more trips here in the future.
