i went this past weds for prix fixe night at bistro verdu (3 courses for $25). we took a nice bottle b/c the corkage fee is only $5. we got there OT, but waited about 15 min for our table. we started with a glass of white, which we thought they might comp given us being OT and the table not being ready. the boy behind the counter also informed us they did not have a decanter, which was disappointing b/c the wine really needed some time. also, the stemware isn't all that great. neighborhood restaurant, i know.
our first courses were pleasant enough, steamed mussels and a salad the was supposed to be chopped but wasn't.
the main courses were very disappointing: plain jane whitefish and overcooked, almost rubbery pork.
dessert was ok.
the prix fixe is a good deal in theory but not that great given the outcome. too bad, i really wanted to like this place.
